Renowned Venezuelan DJ and producer Mr. Pauer has teamed up with Sony Music’s Latin electronic label Orianna for his upcoming album, which will be released in the first quarter of 2024. Mr. Pauer celebrates his upcoming album on Orianna, and proudly announces the release of the first single, “Química”, alongside Colombian superstar, Goyo. Gloria Martínez, the Afro-Colombian singer and rapper known as Goyo, rose to fame in 2010 as the passionate voice of ChocQuibTown, along with Carlos “Tostao” Valencia, and Miguel “Slow” Martínez. Since then, the trio has produced six studio albums, won two Latin Grammy awards, and received two Grammy nominations, in 2011 and 2015, respectively. Goyo is now focused on making a name for herself as a solo artist.
Mr. Pauer, considered a pioneer in Latin electronica, delivers explosive and percussive sounds mixed with his Latin roots and global dance beats. His DJ skills have been featured on essential stages like EDC Mexico, Latin Grammys, Central Park SummerStage, Billboard Latin Week, Vive Latino, Chicago World Fest, POP Montreal and SXSW. Based in Miami, Mr. Pauer’s debut album earned him a Latin Grammy nomination for “Best Alternative Album.” He’s since blazed a trail across multiple music genres, finding inspiration in rock, salsa, cumbia, and disco. During the summer of 2023, Goyo and Mr. Pauer got together in his Miami studio to materialize a collaboration that both had been looking to do for a long time.
“We’ve known each other for over 20 years, even before ChocQuibTown was created,” he says. “We’ve always had great respect for each other and the timing was right for our first collaboration.” The result of the partnership is the track “Química”, featuring Goyo’s dance floor ready vocal performance atop a foundation of Venezuelan cumaco and Colombian alegre drums, elevated by Mr. Pauer’s tropical pop accents and red hot electronic beats. Mr. Pauer previously released released music on Orianna, the collaborative “Pa’Onde Vamos” with David Tort, Markem, and Rayo.
